Depois de ter sua série solo encerrada em maio nos EUA, o Meia-Noite, principal vigilante gay do Universo DC, vai retornar em nova minissérie - acompanhado do seu parceiro Apolo. O anúncio da nova HQ Midnighter & Apollo foi feito pela editora com cerimônia, em notícia no jornal The New York Times. Veja a primeira capa acima.

A HQ em seis edições começa em outubro, com a mesma dupla criativa que estava cuidando da série do Meia-Noite, o roteirista Steve Orlando e o desenhista ACO, que ficará responsável pelas capas. Os desenhos internos agora ficam sob responsabilidade de Fernando Blanco (de Batman Eterno).

A relação gay entre Meia-Noite e Apolo começou quando os personagens foram criados no fim dos anos 1990, na HQ Stormwatch e depois em The Authority, e levou a um casamento e à adoção de um filho. No reboot dos Novos 52 ocorrido em 2011, a relação foi desfeita, e ambos os personagens (antes presentes só na linha WildStorm) foram incorporados ao Universo DC regular.

Apolo chegou a aparecer na série recente de Meia-Noite, mas os dois não foram mais retratados como um casal. Isso deve mudar na nova minissérie. "Eles têm uma ideia mais firme de quem são, e se tornaram mais fortes e mais confiantes juntos. Este é o Casal dos Melhores do Mundo - quebrando tudo e tornando um ao outro melhor do que quando estão separados", resumiu Orlando ao jornal.

DEATH OF HAWKMAN #1

A DC matará o Gavião Negro novamente. Ou, pelo menos, é o que parece.
