Na semana passada a DC Comics colocou nas lojas (físicas e virtuais) a revista DC Universe Presents #9. O título, colocado dentro do DCnU como uma forma e reapresentar personagens marginais aos Novos 52, já flertou com o Desafiador e com os Desafiadores do Desconhecido em suas últimas edições. O escolhido para protagonizar as próximas histórias foi ninguém menos que o imortal vilão Vandal Savage.

Sob a batuta do escritor inglês James Robinson, Savage finalmente tem sua vida apresentada no presente, diferente do que acontece em Demon Knights, que mostra o vilão agindo séculos e séculos atrás. Mais que isso (e é exatamente por este motivo que Robinson foi escolhido para estas histórias), a nova fase também apresenta a filha do vilão, Kassidy Sage, e trabalha o que o escritor sabe fazer de melhor: legados.

Muitíssimo elogiada pela crítica (O CBR deu 4,5 de 5 para a revista), DC Universe Presents #9 conseguiu o impossível: pegar um vilão que muitos desconhecem e tratá-lo como um protagonista de respeito, além de preparar terreno para um futuro cheio de possibilidades ao abrir o leque do legado com uma filha no presente. A história, chamada simplesmente de Savage, fará o leitor escolher com qual dos membros da família ele se identificou mais nesta jornada de três partes.

Vingadores vs. X-Men continua liderando vendas das HQs nos EUA em abril

Vingadores vs X-MEN não dá chance para ninguém. O evento do ano da Marvel Comics colocou a sua segunda edição no topo da lista de HQs mais pedidas à distribuidora Diamond Comics no mês de abril nos EUA. Segundo o site de análise ICV2, apesar de queda (normal) de 22% em relação à primeira edição, a número 2 ainda fez quase 160 mil pedidos.
Todas as séries dos universos mutante e vingador estão integradas à saga e, assim, também ganharam um impulso de vendas durante o mês. Mas AVX: Versus, minissérie só de pancadaria entre os heróis, é a primeira destas derivadas - na quarta posição, com mais de 100 mil unidades.
A DC Comics, contudo, tem seis posições no Top 10. A grande novidade é que Justice League perdeu a supremacia para Batman. Isso aconteceu por dois motivos: O Homem-Morcego começou a saga "Court of Owls" e Justice League entra na sua segunda edição sem Jim Lee. As duas pegaram o segundo e o terceiro lugar, respectivamente. E, para competir com Vingadores vs. X-Men, lembre-se que a DC está vindo com Before Watchmen.

Enquanto isso, nas graphic novels e coletâneas, o fenômeno Walking Dead continua forte: 15 das 25 primeiras posições no gráfico são da série de Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore e Charlie Adlard. Mas é interessante ver que Flex Mentallo, coletânea do primeiro trabalho de Grant Morrison e Frank Quitely, que levou 16 anos para sair lá fora, achou espaço para alcançar a quarta posição (mesmo com um volume relativamente caro: US$ 22,99).

Marvel e DC estão aproximando-se nos gráficas de vendas: a primeira ficou com 34,64% em arrecadação, contra 30,12% da DC. Em unidades vendidas, deu 39,07% contra 34,06%.

O mercado cresceu 16,3% em relação ao mesmo período no ano passado, o que é reflexo das cinco quarta-feiras de lançamento que o mês teve este ano. Mas o crescimento do primeiro trimestre também é positivo em relação a 2011, o que é bom prognóstico para o resto do ano.
