Kyle Rayner volta a ser um Lanterna Verde na DC
                              
História pode se ligar ao mistério de Watchmen no universo de heróis

A DC Comics devolveu a Kyle Rayner o status de Lanterna Verde. A virada aconteceu na edição 17 de Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps, que acaba de sair nos EUA, e pode estabelecer o início de uma nova fase nas histórias das tropas dos anéis.
Desde o início dos Novos 52 em 2011, Kyle Rayner (personagem criado nos anos 1990 para substituir Hal Jordan como o Lanterna verde titular) era o único portador do anel branco, depois que ele atraiu todos os demais anéis e incorporou poderes de cada um deles. Na nova história, Rayner é procurado pelo único remanescente dos Laternas Azuis, cujo poder é alimentado pela esperança - daí o nome da história, "Quest for Hope".
Esse remanescente, Santo Andarilho, chega com a mensagem de que o universo precisa de esperança, mais do que nunca (uma possível referência à interferência de Watchmen no Universo DC, motivada por descrença). Sem avisar, o personagem tenta conseguir de Rayner o poder de regeneração do Lanterna Branco, para ressuscitar os outros Lanternas Azuis, e ao fazê-lo o anel branco se despedaça em sete anéis coloridos. O verde permanece com Rayner.
