Após 12 meses de muita polêmica no mercado de quadrinhos dos EUA com os Novos 52, a DC Comics decide fazer o Mês Zero (Zero Month) zerando todos seus títulos com novas origens e pontas soltas solucionadas. Dentro dessa confusão toda, alguns personagens se beneficiaram como, por exemplo, a Mulher-Maravilha. O escritor Brian Azzarello e o artista Cliff Chiang conseguiram agregar novos elementos e criar uma ótima identidade para o universo da Princesa Amazona que não era visto desde os tempos de George Pérez. Começamos a história com uma jovem Diana escalando uma colina em busca de um ninho de harpia. Diana consegue roubar um ovo e entregá-lo à sua mãe, Hipólita, que exigia um presente adequado para poder reconhecer o dia do aniversário de sua filha. A realização da tarefa não é reconhecida apenas por sua mãe, um deus fica a espreita e observa a jovem com misteriosas intenções.
Em meio as comemorações de seu aniversário, Diana é desafiada para um duelo por uma garota chamada Aleka. A rival nutre de um ódio pela princesa por ter sido criada a partir do barro e não gerada naturalmente como as demais amazonas. Aleka ataca com ferocidade, mas é derrotada facilmente por uma Diana fora de controle e ofendida. Magoada com as palavras de Aleka, a jovem foge do recinto e questiona suas origens até ser abordada pelo Deus da Guerra, que se apresenta apenas como Guerra. O deus propõe treiná-la para se tornar a melhor guerreira do mundo.

Mais um aniversário acontece e Guerra leva sua pupila para a realização do tributo anual para rainha. A princesa adentra um labirinto escondido onde só encontra morte e escuridão. Usando seu laço mágico para marcar o caminho de volta, ela adentra mais ainda até se deparar com o temido Minotauro de Creta.

Os quadrinistas quebradores de costas atacaram novamente. Esta semana a discussão é em torno da capa de Catwoman #0, divulgada nos previews de setembro da DC Comics. O desenho de Guillem March usa a famosa pose "brokeback" - que visa mostrar seios e bunda na mesma pose - de uma forma que gerou diversas discussões a respeito de anatomia (e sexismo).

As reações mais divertidas, compiladas pelo site Comics Alliance, são dos desenhistas que tentaram reproduzir como funciona o esqueleto da heroína de acordo com a capa. A discussão gira em torno de como ela conseguiu quebrar a espinha dorsal, perder o pescoço e uma das pernas.

Os roteiros são de Bryan Q. Miller, com arte de ChrisCross e Marc Deering. A revista será publicada em setembro.
Antes disso, a história será lançada no formato digital.

Justice League #0 será dedicada ao Shazam e Pandora

Com o anuncio de que a reformulação do Shazam seria publicada como história de fundo da revista mensal da Liga da Justiça, o personagem tinha algumas poucas páginas por edição para ser apresentado aos leitores. Mas isso mudará em setembro, com a publicação de Justice League #0.
A revista terá roteiros de Geoff Johns e desenhos de Gary Frank, será inteiramente dedicada ao herói, que ganhará também a companhia de Pandora. Colocar os dois personagens de origem mística no título é um passo planejado pelo autor, que antes já havia revelado serem muito importantes no futuro do novo Universo DC.
Na trama, Billy Batson ganha destaque ao liberar todo o poder de Shazam em uma história especial mostrando sua origem. Mais detalhes sobre o passado de Pandora também será mostrado, e deixará pistas para o evento Trinity War, que correrá em 2013.
A edição trará ainda capa alternativa ilustrada pelos brasileiros Ivan Reis e Joe Prado.

Em julho, durante a San Diego Comic-Con, o escritor Scott Lobdell e o editor Dan DiDio revelaram que, no reformulado Universo DC, Tim Drake jamais foi o Robin. Tal notícia rapidamente criou uma onda de boatos e revolta na internet entre os fãs do personagem.
Sem mais detalhes, que seriam revelados apenas em Teen Titans # 0, os leitores tiveram que aguardar dois meses para descobrir o que realmente significava a notícia. Nesta semana, com o lançamento da revista, tudo foi explicado e a DC Comics realmente decidiu mudar a origem do personagem na nova cronologia.
Entretanto, isso não significa que ele jamais foi parceiro do Batman no combate ao crime nas ruas de Gotham City.
Muitos detalhes continuam semelhantes com a origem anterior, mas com algumas modificações. Tim é fascinado pela figura do Batman e percebe uma mudança de comportamento em suas atitudes, depois que o Robin sumiu (ou, como os leitores sabem, foi assassinado pelo Coringa). Determinado a descobrir a identidade do vigilante e trabalhar com ele, começa uma investigação por contra própria.
Tal investigação chama a atenção de Bruce Wayne, que começa a plantar pistas falsas. Essas pistas levam a um encontro entre os dois em um aviário, onde Batman avisa para Tim desistir de sua busca.
Mas o encontro não surte o efeito desejado e ele resolve usar suas habilidades de hacker para roubar dos ricos e dar aos pobres. Até que a pessoa que ele rouba é Oswald Cobblepot, o Pinguim. Como vingança, o vilão ordena a morte do garoto e de seus pais, mas a emboscada é frustrada pelo Batman.

Isso leva a outra mudança importante. Na nova cronologia, os pais de Tim continuam vivos e entram no programa de proteção de testemunhas da polícia. Com isso, eles precisam adotar nomes falsos e deixam Tim aos cuidados do Homem Morcego.
Ao começar o treinamento para combater o crime, ele decide não usar o tradicional uniforme verde e vermelho do menino-prodígio e, por respeito ao destino sofrido por Jason Todd, não quer usar a alcunha de Robin. Assim, escolhe o nome Robin Vermelho (Red Robin, no original), e passa a vestir uma versão vermelha e preta da roupa.
A edição também deixa implícito que, enquanto o seu primeiro nome é realmente Tim (diminutivo de Timothy), o sobrenome Drake foi adotado ao começar a trabalhar ao lado do Cavaleiro das Trevas.
Talvez o fato mais curioso dessas mudanças esteja no encadernado Teen Titans Vol. 1: It's Our Right to Fight, que reúne os sete primeiros números da nova série mensal. Nessa edição, algumas falas e recordatórios que saíram originalmente nas revistas avulsas foram modificadas ou subtraídas para se adequar à nova origem.
Tim Drake foi criado em 1989 e se tornou o terceiro personagem a vestir o uniforme do Robin. Foi com ele, também, que, pela primeira vez, o jovem herói ganhou uma revista própria, publicada em 1994.
Antes do reboot da DC, Drake já havia assumido a identidade de Robin Vermelho, fato que aconteceu em 2009, depois que Damian - filho de Bruce Wayne com Talia Ra's Ghul - se tornou o novo Robin. Inclusive, chegou a ter uma série própria chamada Red Robin, que durou 26 edições, até ser cancelada para a editora implantar as mudanças de Os Novos 52.

A partir de setembro, a revista Superman ganhará uma nova equipe criativa: Scott Lobdell será o escritor regular do título, e Kenneth Rocafort cuidará da arte. É a mesma dupla que há um ano foi responsável por lançar Red Hood and the Outlaws.
Eles substituirão Dan Jurgens e Keith Giffen. Aliás, Lobdell já vinha com um pé no universo do Superman, pois foi o responsável pela criação da nova revista do Superboy.
"Como qualquer outro escritor no mundo que já ouviu falar no Superman, passei boa parte da minha vida desejando escrever suas aventuras", disse o autor em comunicado oficial da DC Comics. "Grant Morrison deixou vários brinquedos interessantes com suas histórias em Action Comics, e pode acreditar que vou pegar cada um deles".
Segundo Lobdell, ele fez uma proposta para a série, mas não acreditou que a editora fosse deixá-lo colocar as ideias em prática. Obviamente, esse não foi o caso.
Logo na primeira história da dupla, eles voltarão a Krypton e mostrarão Jor-El descobrindo a verdade sobre a iminente destruição do planeta, além de introduzir os Erradicadores (uma versão reformulada do personagem Erradicador, talvez?).
