A DC Comics cancelou o lançamento de Second Coming, quadrinho que seria protagonizado por Jesus Cristo. O roteirista Mark Russell fez a revelação no twitter e explicou que a obra deve sair por outra editora.

“O cancelamento da DC/Vertigo dos pedidos de Second Coming, só para vocês saberem, a DC não fez nada contra mim. Eu pedi os direitos de volta e eles de uma maneira bela aceitaram. Foi um prazer trabalhar com eles e [a HQ] será lançada, mas com uma editora diferente”.

Recentemente, um abaixo-assinado exigia o cancelamento da HQ que contava com mais de 100 mil assinaturas.

A Piada Mortal conta a mais aceita origem do Coringa, como um comediante fracassado que decide entrar para o crime. Durante seu primeiro roubo, o homem topa com o Batman e acaba caindo em um tanque de produtos químicos. Por causa das substâncias tóxicas, o criminoso enlouquece e fica com a pele branca, os cabelos verdes e os lábios vermelhos. A imagem recriada por Bermejo é justamente o momento dessa transformação do Palhaço do Crime.Batman: Damned faz parte do selo Black Label da DC Comics, que mostra histórias que não têm ligação com a cronologia oficial da editora. A publicação tem roteiros de Brian Azzarello e desenho de Bermejo, quadrinista confirmado na CCXP19 - saiba mais. A dupla é responsável pela elogiada graphic novel Coringa, que explorou outros lados do vilão.
