2024 ABSOLUTE POWER FREE COMIC BOOK DAY SPECIAL EDITION

Recentemente, Mark Waid e Dan Mora levantaram suspense com o anúncio de que estavam deixando a carismática revista do Shazam! por causa de um grande projeto. Pois bem, agora tudo foi esclarecido com o anúncio de que a dupla vai comandar o megaevento da DC Comics de 2024.

Waid e Mora estão trabalhando em Absolute Power (Poder Absoluto, em tradução livre), história que mostrará Amanda Waller se aliando a Salvaguarda e Rainha Brainiac para tentar erradicar os meta-humanos da face da Terra.

Nas histórias atuais, o Batman de Zur-En-Arrh, que é a persona fria do Homem-Morcego isolada da de Bruce Wayne, foi erradicado da mente do bilionário e possuiu o corpo do Salvaguarda. Isso faz do androide, que já derrotou o Batman na fase de Chip Zdarsky e Jorge Jimenez, um vilão ainda mais preocupante para o Universo DC, por causa de poderio estratégico e militar.

Rainha Brainiac, por sua vez, foi apresentada como uma vilã capaz de roubar todas as habilidades meta-humanas de todos os super-heróis e supervilões ao redor do mundo, através de sua tecnologia sobrenatural.

Waller, vale lembrar, recebeu a missão de erradicar os meta-humanos da Terra diretamente do Conselho de Luz, que foi um conceito importado da série animada Justiça Jovem para os quadrinhos, logo no começo das histórias da Aurora da DC.

Para o Conselho, a existência dos meta-humanos é uma ameaça incontrolável à paz mundial e, até mesmo a Liga da Justiça traz mais problemas que resoluções para a humanidade.

Conforme anunciado no painel da DC na ComicsPRO Comic Industry Conference nesta quinta-feira (22), o megaevento vai começar em 4 maio, em uma edição especial para o Free Comic Book Day dos EUA.

We have previously seen Amanda Waller taking over the Hall Of Justice in the Justice League's absence and renaming it the Hall Of Order, While this week's Flash revealed she is taking over all superheroic institutions.

And The Clock King even names a few of them for us. Gotta catch 'em all.

Well, she has put someone in charge of running the Hall Of Order. There can be only one candidate.

The back-up personality of a Batman driven to the edge, Zur-En-Arrh, housed in an unbeatable Batman robot. And what's in it for Zur-En-Arrh?

He is creating multiple bodies using Amazo technology, in order to be everywhere… but also it seems maybe across all dimensions too.

Willing to work with, and use, a non-powered superhero like Green Arrow.

And the realisation that Amanda Waller is playing a big, wider, longer game than anyone else.

And Absolute Power is about to be measured…

But there is someone with superpowers who Amanda Waller is using, as seen in the recent Suicide Squad: Dream Team series. Dreamer, who has the kind of information that Amanda Waller can get nowhere else.

Dreamer may not want to give it to Amanda Waller. But we learn what is coming for everyone.

Amanda Waller wins. She has the former Justice League and more in chains. Or at least we presume it's all her. Queen Brainiac may be about to help.
